Writing an Abstract

Writing an AbstractA research abstract is one of the required parts of a paper. The purpose of it is to inform the readers about the kind of method or technique the researcher uses. There are various types of abstracts to choose from. Knowing what the purpose of an abstract is and how it fits in your paper will help you to decide whether it should be included in your paper or not.An abstract is generally a brief description of the research method, the researcher is using. It must give the readers a short description of the experiment, the research methods that are used in it, the method that was used, results of the experiments, any problems encountered along the way, the nature of the final results and other information. The reader is only expected to take note of the important parts of the research abstract. The abstract should also mention what type of results the study will show. It should mention whether the studies were done using double blind or whether they used a blinded or a non-blinded way of conducting the experiment. It should also state whether the study was done in controlled conditions or not.The author of the abstract is the person who wrote down all the things mentioned in the paper. The contents of the abstract should be consistent with the content of the paper. It must be written in a way that the results are presented according to the style guidelines of the journal, the paper is submitted to. The use of bold or italic type will be ignored. In some journals the use of colors is not allowed in the abstract. It is advised to avoid colors in the abstracts. If the paper is already accepted, it is recommended to use the recommended format to present the abstract. If the abstract is not included in the paper, it will be very embarrassing for the author as he will not get an opportunity to submit his work for review and publication. The abstract must be written in the first paragraph of the paper. It must be completed within two to three sentences. T he abstract must not be longer than ten pages. When writing the abstract, it is better to keep your focus on the main points of the paper. Don't put in too many words that may be difficult to understand. Only highlight the main points that are important. Keep the title simple and clear and the journal will have little trouble reading your paper.
